Million Dollar Photo

Mr John Gebhardt (US Air Force) is currently serving our country in Iraq. This little girls entire family was executed, and the insurgents intended to kill her also...they shot her in the head but failed to kill her. She is being treated at the hospital where Mr Gebhardt works; he is the only person able to comfort her. They have spent the last four nights sleeping in that chair! Bless her little heart! This man is more than a soldier...he is a human being that understands how much simple kindness means to us all!!! I would love to see all of us doing more kind things. Hold the door for someone, make eye contact and smile at a passerby, say Thank You and mean it, tell someone you appreciate their help!!!

What an incredibly moving picture and story. I am in tears, but so thankful that there are people in the world who care enough to hold and comfort children in situations like this. Thank you for sharing this.

What a sweet picture! I wish he could take her home and make her his own. Poor little cutie.

This is the saddest and happiest photo! I am so grateful that this child has some comfort...but what will happen to her? I am praying she finds a home and some healing. That man needs a medal for looking beyond the 'war' and seeing a child who needs to be held.

Godl bless the both of them
